Entry #6. 5 useful tips from a college student

These are five study tips that have proven to be useful during my college career so far.

10 Ways for College Students to Succeed During COVID-19

1.Get organized.

Organize your study schedule; you may need to sacrifice some things, such as spending time with friends and/ or playing videogames. Professors in college frequently post homework for the entire semester and expect you to be prepared. Organizing your study time and sticking to a schedule will greatly assist you.  It helps me stay focused and strive to complete tasks on time. This may assist you in determining whether or not you are able to perform other things at that time.

2. Make sure you get enough rest.

I've been having sleep issues as a result of having to entirely rearrange my sleeping schedule. I would advocate getting plenty of sleep because when we don't, we might become moody, have difficulties focusing, and even fall asleep in class. With that being said, I believe sleeping plays a crucial role in our everyday lives and is necessary to go day by day.

3. Make a playlist.

It's now time to relax. Make a playlist that will help you relax and enjoy your studying time. Be creative and allow your mind breath, and if you can't study with music, I would recommend taking pauses and doing so to relieve tension and stress.

4. Don’t feel pressured to make a hasty decision about a career or a major.

College is the moment for you to really find who you are, what you enjoy doing, what you're good at, and what you want to be. It doesn't matter if everyone else seems to know what they're doing with their lives; believe me, they don't. It's not a race; take your time and enjoy.

5. Don’t procrastinate; prioritize your life.

Give yourself deadlines and stick to them. Look over Canvas everyday can keep you updated on announcements your professors post about certain topics or assignments. You also never know if there is an assignment that isn't posted on your list or calendar that can be due that day. Most importantly it helps keep you on track of all of the courses you are talking and keeping them prepared.

  1. I love these tips! This being my first semester of college freaked me out a lot especially since I have a scholarship paying for everything and have to have good grades to keep it. Staying organized and getting enough sleep have been the hardest for me this year. I just recently organized my school work and schedule last week and this week was one of the easiest I've had so far. My sleep schedule though is extremely messy and I wish I could fix it in one day but it seems impossible right now. Thanks for these tips. :)
